From character sound design to melodies and jingles, I have created sounds, foley and audio branding for clients such as the Associated Press, Midway Games, CasinoMan, LadyLuck Media, UsTwo, Firebelly Films and many others.

I can also edit and restore sounds where the original recording has issues such as noise, pops, clicks, sibilance and plosives.

Inkstrumental

This is the teaser I created for UsTwo. For the final game, available now on the app store, I created the backing tracks and designed all of the character sounds. It’s totally mental.

Blacksite trailer

The music and sound design was completed by me, then the footage was edited by Eye-D Creative. No game sounds were supplied, so I designed the sounds of the creatures etc from scratch. The music was also composed, recorded and mixed in-house.

Nike trainer advert

This was a pitch to nike for a trainer advert. Video shot and edited by Richard Smither, and the music selected and edited and sounds designed and synced by me. Our theme here is the speed and traction of the Nike shoe compared to the skidding of the competition.

TNA Impact TV spot

The music was selected by us, then the sounds sourced from the supplied commentry clips and some sounds created and mixed by me. The footage was supplied edited by Eye-D Creative so I edited the music and designed the sounds in sync with the picture.

TNA Impact Cinema Trailer

Following on from the TV spot, I was asked to create something a little more cinematic to be shown in a big arena. I composed the music, which sampled one of the tna anthems, then mixed the trailer in 5.1 surround with all of the effects being steered around the soundstage. Unfortunately it’s only presented here in stereo, but the 5.1 mix is available for demo. The footage was again supplied and edited by Eye-D Creative. I was also supplied with several takes of voiceover to comp and edit, and even supplied the voiceover artist with the guide voice track for recording.

Hour of Victory 30s tv advert

From the video footage supplied and edited by Eye-D Creative, I first composed the music, then edited it and designed the sounds which I then synced to the picture. The voiceover was also provided by me. This advert was very successful, and the 5s edit version was used around all the ad-breaks on the history channel showing of band of brothers.

Duck! the movie

Created as a bit of fun to warn on the potential dangers of messing with genetics. the ducks are coming! Lot’s of video and audio “ageing” effects here such as tape wow-and-flutter and picture roll. Sometimes pristine is just what you don’t want…

Restoration of distorted and crackly vinyl

Carefully removed pops and clicks and then took out the distortion. This restoration project was so successful that it fooled a recording engineer into thinking we had found a new master recording!

Cleaning up vocal recording

A couple of pops and mouth-noises removed from this otherwise excellent and well recorded vocal performance. Some performances can’t be repeated and we don’t want to let a minor technical problem get in the way!
