Working with Spindle Productions to create a unique book trailer soundtrack for this novel “Fool Me Once” by Harlan Coben.
From the storyboard we first created the music for the book trailer including the risers and slams so the video editors could get to work cutting the picture. The music layer gives structure and shape to the piece so it’s a key element to get right as all of the drama and tension relies on this bedrock.
Once the voiceovers had been recorded and selected, we edited these into the soundtrack and added the atmosphere, foley and sound design before finally giving the whole thing a nice mix for the web.
This back-and-forth approach works well with trailer content as often the music will need to be adjusted before the final picture lock, so we can make those changes or adapt each section to fit the cuts made by the picture editor.
