A single swing, a single strike, and the destruction that follows. All filmed at 2000 frames per second, and again a high frame rate riddle to solve with sound.
With this project I began by playing a single piano chord, and then time stretched it to hundreds of times its original length creating a harmonic texture to underpin the beautiful dance of the destruction in slow motion.
This would provide the through line of the build to the hit and then the beautiful destruction that follows, which is more like large asteroids moving in space, slowly interacting and bumping while keeping the textures interesting over the course of the piece.
